Principal Financial Group’s goal was to revitalize their dining service program and infrastructure to create a flexible and engaging space for employees to love. A destination dining experience with a restaurant aesthetic – gone is the stainless steel food court approach to foodservice. What they did was create sophisticated spaces – perfect for meetings, work-shops, catered events, and executive entertainment – and of course daily dining.
The extensive renovation of the existing facility into a new “Chef Studio” featuring a fresh, cook-to-order food surpasses the limited ideas of the outdated servery. Flexible cooking stations were created including a grill, oven-fired pizza, soup/salad area and a café. This on-demand approach to food preparation brings cooking out of the “back of house”. Now a visual experience emphasizing choice with seating clusters of variety in scale and privacy, a new refreshing alternative to traditional dining hall aesthetic comes alive – a dynamic, relaxed dining experience.
